Well I have always been scared it would happen again and it did! We have gotten rain tons of rain everyday since April 5th.On Thursday I went down stairs in the morning to find that our basement had flooded. The entire finished side was flooded with water. The unfinished side and laundry room and bathroom were all wet. We had this happen in 2008 after we had about 3 ft of snow melt overnight.
We now have started the long process of getting things cleaned up. Josh is ripping up all the carpet and pad. Then the cleaning pro's will come in and extract the water that is still down there and clean everything up. They will also spray a mold killer/pre-venter. Then we will have huge fans and dehumidifiers down there for a few days.
Then we have to see what all needs to be replaced other than the carpet pad and trim.
I am up set that this happen but I ever more upset that now Ellison does not really have a place to play, all of her toys were downstairs. We have moved everything up to the spare room. Which we were in the process of turning into Ellison's new big girl room which is now on hold until we get the basement put back together.
Ugggg I told Josh I wanted to move!
Well I hope every one else is doing well. :)

10 well almost...
I got this idea from Kelly and Kellys' Korner. I am going to do 10 random facts about myself.
1.) Many people don't know that I have twin sisters. There names are Barb and Lisa and they are 18 years older than I am. I was born on there first day of there senior year of high school.
2.) I became an Aunt when I was 7 years old. I now have 4 nephews and 2 nieces and one great niece.
3.) My senior year of high school I sang at Carnegie Hall. It was a amazing experience that I will never forget!
4.) I don't eat eggs unless they are in cakes or cookies. I make them all the time for Ellison and Josh but I don't ever eat them. YUCK!
5.) I was an exchange student in high school and I went to Germany in between my junior and senior year.
6.) I took sign language for 2 years in college, and taught at school for the deaf in Jamaica for a week with a group of other girls from Trinity. This was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I have told my Husband many times that I would love to go back and visit the school some day.
7.) I love salt n Vinegar chips, thanks to my friend Sarah. I tried them for the first time in 1 st grade and I have been hooked every since.
8.) ?
9.) ?
10.) ?
Since I could not think of 3 more things I think that I will tag 3 people and ask them to write 10 random facts about them selves.

T.V. Shows
What T.V. shows do you or your kids watch? Ellison loves the following...
Curious George
Daniel Tiger
Doc Mc Stuffin
Bubble Guppies
These are her top 3 I would say. She likes to watch cooking shows with me too!
What T.V. shows do you watch? I watch the following shows. I DVR all of these so when I have down time at night I can have something to watch on T.V.
Grey's Anatomy
Law and Order SVU
Criminal Minds
Rachael Ray
The Ellen DeGeneres
Glee
I am always looking for new shows to watch for both of us. I would love it if you would leave comments with new suggestions of some of your favorites.

Living room
Chaise lounge ( Ellison's "furniture bed")
Next on the list for the living room is a new area rug. I have been looking for a long time and have not found something that I like that is not over $500 so I have decided to have one made. I will be able to get a 8x10, which will be great because we could use it to be a little larger. I was very surprised at how reasonable it is to have one made from a carpet remnants. I also need to get some more pillows to go with my new orange and red ones!

Turkey dog muffins
I saw this recipe on Pinterest and thought I would give it a try. They are kind of like corn dogs. You use a cornbread muffin mix and hot dogs. The other night it was just Ellison and I for dinner so I though we would give them a try.
Corn bread mix and turkey dogs ready to go to the oven
all done!
We ate them with ketchup and they tasted great. I think next time I will cut up the turkey dogs and mix them in with the batter, and then scoop them in the muffin tins. Ellison loved them, I am sure that I will make them again.

Few pics
Ellison was helping my Dad and Josh get a trailer from a friends storage unit and,
Ellison found a "little" friend.
She was so proud of he tower!
Spaghetti all over her face, but lots made it in her tummy.
Sound asleep in the car on the way home from MOMS and the grocery store. She is holding on tight to some artificial flowers from a MOMS project we did at the start of the year. Thursday was my last MOMS and I can't wait for it to start again next year. It was so much fun and I meet some wonderful new ladies. Plus I got to spend extra mom only time with my friend Katie. :)
I love when I am home and can spend lots of time with my little helper and side kick.

We are hoping to start painting Ellison's new "big girl" room soon. I am having a hard time picking the right color yellow. I would like it to be light and not to yellow. Her bedding in yellow, green and pink. All of her furniture is going to be white! The trim in the room is white as well. She is very excited to sleep in a big girl bed. If you can see in the picture I have put little * on my top picks. I would love your help picking too!

Last week Josh was home so he could entertain Ellison. So I got to get a project done that I have been wanting to do for a long time.
Ta-Da! This is my before and after of the line closet project. I love to see them side by side. I did the whole thing for $14.00 and it only took about 1 hour. I have to find some cute tags and then it will be complete.
Next up the bathroom closet...
Have your done any good cleaning/organizing projects?

Weekend
We had a good weekend, Josh worked the whole time so Ellison and I had lots of girl time. On Saturday we got to celebrate my twin sisters Barb and Lisa's birthday, with almost the whole family. We went to Crazy Horse for dinner.
It was great to see everyone and spend time with them. Ellison loves to go out for dinner and seemed to have a lot of fun playing with the "salad" that came on everyone's plates.
Sunday morning we went to my cousins church to celebrate there son Lucas's baptism. It was fun to go to a different church and spend time with more family. I was not sure how Ellison would do in a new nursery but she did great. Ellison loves to play with her boy cousins Isaac and Sam. :)
We sold our old living room furniture that was Josh's and he has had since before we got married it was "well loved". Right now our living room looks very bare. Hopefully we will have new to us furniture tonight.
Thursday morning is my last MOMS day. I have really enjoyed being able to go this past year. I am sad to see it end, and wished it would keep going. I am already looking forward to next year!
Have a good rest of your week!

WOW! It has been forever since I have done a post. My reason is that I never get on the laptop anymore. I am always on my phone or the ipad. That all being said I think that I am going to try hard to get on here and blog more.
Ellison is 2.5 years old and full of life. She is talking all the time and her vocabulary is growing everyday. She loves to help Josh and I do everything. She runs on full energy all day and then crashes for naps in the afternoon then wakes up and is go go go until bedtime. She loves her dog ESPN he is her "buddy". She loves to play with her dolls kitchen set and her favorite is playing doctor. She is the joy of our life, both of us love it when we have a day off to are able to be home with her. When we are working she goes to Nana's house. Ellison loves to spend time with her Nana, they are always going on an adventure.
Ellison had her tonsils out in early February things went pretty well. She was amazing while in the hospital overnight. We tried out best to make the whole experience fun.
We are in the process right now of changing our guest room into Ellison's new big girl room. We are painting the walls and all the doors and furniture that we have for her. It is a process but it is going to be great when it is all done.
Today I organized our linen closet. It only took me about 1 hour and I spent $14.00 at the dollar store on bins and baskets. I love to have things all organized. My next project is the bathroom closet.
I hope that everyone has a great rest of your week.
P.S. If you are still reading the blog I am sure you surprised (Katie);)
